About the Role
The QA Engineer is responsible for whether what we ship actually works. This role covers test planning, hands-on functional testing, regression coverage, and release verification across VistralNova's games, web applications, APIs, and digital asset flows. We are a small team shipping frequently, so quality cannot be a stage at the end — it has to be someone's ongoing responsibility, with the standing to say a release is not ready. You will be that person, and you will have a direct line to the engineers whose work you are testing.
What You'll Do
- Write and maintain test plans and cases for new features and existing behaviour.
- Test game flows, web applications, APIs, and wallet-connected features by hand and in automation.
- Build and maintain automated regression coverage where it earns its keep.
- Reproduce, isolate, and document defects so an engineer can act without a second conversation.
- Verify releases before they go out, and check them again once they are live.
- Test edge cases around money, ownership, and rewards, where a bug is not merely annoying.
- Track recurring defect patterns and raise the process problems behind them.
What We Look For
- Practical QA experience on web applications, APIs, or games.
- A methodical approach to test design, including negative and boundary cases.
- Experience with test automation and an honest sense of what is worth automating.
- Ability to write bug reports that are precise, reproducible, and free of guesswork.
- Comfort testing APIs directly, not only through a user interface.
- Persistence — the useful bugs are rarely the ones on the happy path.
- Clear communication with engineers, designers, and product.
Nice to Have
- Experience testing games, real-time systems, or multiplayer behaviour.
- Familiarity with wallet-connected flows, transactions, or digital asset ownership.
- Experience with performance, load, or security testing.
- Experience establishing QA practice somewhere that previously had none.
